Creamy Potato & Kumera Mash

Cottage Pie

Here is a great way to turn ordinary mash into an extraordinary mash. A great accompaniment to your favourite meat dish.

Serves 4


  • 3 medium sized potatoes - peeled and cut into pieces.
  • 2 medium Kumera (sweet potato) - peeled and cut into pieces.
  • 2 tablespoons milk.
  • Nob butter/margarine.
  • 2 OXO Chicken or Vegetable stock cubes.


  • Boil Kumera and potato in a large saucepan until cooked.
  • Mash or blend with butter, milk and OXO stock.
  • Serve…yum!!!


Try serving with cream instead of milk or 50:50 of each as an indulgent alternative!

For the onion lovers, add 1/4 to 1/2 onion, finely diced to the mash.
